Gideon Hawley had successful cataract surgery last Tuesday. Dennis McCain’s brother, Keith, will have knee replacement surgery Monday, June 24th. Lorretta Ray had another procedure last Thursday to relieve the pain from her bulging discs. Bonnie Stephens continues to improve. George Tooley fell on Tuesday, causing a hematoma in his leg. There are no broken bones, but he is at the Heart Hospital for a day or two in order to deal with the hematoma. They have asked for our prayers. ********************************************************************* Second Quarter Luncheon will be Sunday after the morning service. We invite you to stay for lunch and fellowship. The evening service will be immediately following the luncheon. There will be no 6 p.m. service. We want to congratulate Toby Spoon! He was baptized last week during Camp Encounter at LCU. We are so very proud of him and we love him and his commitment to our Lord! All VBS workers will be working at the building on June 29th starting at 9:00 a.m. Bring a lunch or Clayton will have sandwich stuff. VBS will be next Sunday, June 30th from 2-5 for K-5th grade. All workers need to be here at 1:15. A hotdog supper will be provided after VBS. There will be no 6 p.m. service. Thank you notes: Words cannot express how grateful we are for allowing us to use the Dennis Wing for our family reunion. The laughter and love flowed and the memories will live in our hearts for many years to come. This would not have been possible were it not for you willingness to share the beautiful facility. We need someone to handle Kitchen Duty. If you can help, please sign up in the foyer. The evening service will be immediately following the luncheon. There will be no 6 p.m. service. We have two “vintage” baby beds and two “vintage” rocking chairs to give away. The Church nursery is getting an update so these items need new homes. See Debbie if you are interested. Prayer request: Zyus Longoria, Johnny’s one and half year old nephew, is now home. He will have therapy but is doing well. The family thanks everyone for the prayers. Madlyn Rees got a good report that she does not have to have radiation treatments. Bonnie Stephens is now home but please no visitors. George Tooley is home doing very well. ********************************************************************* The 100th Anniversary committee that is compiling a list of past members needs your help. Please take time to make a list of the names and addresses of your adult children, brothers, sisters, cousins, whoever attended our church in the past. Your help is appreciated. Debbie, Janice or Lanell will be happy to take your list. Ladies Bible Class will be Tuesday, June 11th in the Dennis Wing at 7 p.m. They will conclude the lessons on “Spiritual Strength”. Silver Saints will meet Saturday, June 15th at 5 p.m. at Loco’s Restaurant. Everyone will need to purchase their own meal. The program will be on Littlefield City News. The Covenant Mobile Mammography unit will be in Littlefield, June 13th at the United Supermarket parking lot. Prayer request: Ed Jennings has taken a fall and requests prayers. Zius Longoria, Johnny’s one and half year old nephew, was struck by a car Monday. He has internal brain bleeding and is in very critical condition; however he is better today. He is in the Pediatric ICU at UMC. The family requests continuing prayers. Earl Love was in the local hospital but he is now home. Irene Martinez requests prayers for her son, J.R. Martinez. He is having difficulties. Bonnie Stephens was taken to ER on Thursday. She had complications but she was doing better Friday. She is in Covenant Hospital and requests no visitors, please. George Tooley’s heart valve replacement surgery was a success last Thursday. *********************************************************************** The 100th Anniversary committee that is compiling a list of past members will meet Sunday. The brief meeting will be at 10:15 in the Dennis Wing. The Building Fund will be collected Sunday when the plate is passed a second time. Elders will meet next Wednesday after the singing service. Update: The Children’s Home of Lubbock picked up our 85 pairs of jeans last Wednesday. Again we want to thank everyone who provided jeans! Thursday, June 4th our youth will have their McDonald’s fundraiser. This is to help pay for Church camp fees. Be sure to stop by and purchase items from our kids from 5:00-8:00 p.m. 20% of what you purchase will go to them and also they’ll be selling pies for $3 at 100% profit. Prayer request: Earl Love is having health issues. Larry McCain was scheduled for a stint today. Bonnie Stephens’ bladder surgery went as expected and she is now home. She has requested no visitors at this time. Prayer request: Earl Love is home after a bout with pneumonia. Lee Ray had a Doppler run on his carotid artery last Wednesday. Lorretta Ray has two bulging discs and they will be treated by pain management. Bonnie Stephens had bladder surgery last Friday. ********************************************************** Our love and sympathy is extended to Kelly Bownds and family. Her grandmother, Billie Cody, passed away last Sunday. Her service will be Saturday at10 a.m. in the Kings Ridge Church of Christ at 4201 98th Street, Lubbock. The Senior Breakfast for our three seniors, Bryson Flores, Daisy Garcia, and Jayci Weldon, will begin at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Their families, and the Church Leadership and their families will be attending. In addition to this, the seniors will be honored during our morning service. THANK YOU!!! We couldn’t have done the Senior Luncheon this past week without your help! Thanks to the McNabb’s for cooking the delicious meat. Thanks to Debbie for helping set up. Thanks to Judy, Kim, Leslie, Brittany, the Goldens, the Harris’ and the Pierce’s for serving. Thanks to everyone else that made wonderful brownies and baked the potatoes. Jordan graduated with a degree in Exercise Sports and Medicine and she will continue at Texas Tech to get her Masters in Athletic Training. Jayci will follow her brother and sister and attend LCU. Prayer request: Kelly Bownds’ grandmother, Billie Cody, is in the Heart Hospital with congestive heart failure and kidney failure. Prayers are requested. Gideon Hawley’s back surgery went well. He is home recovering. Matthew Ingle severely injured two fingers last Monday at the football field. Larry McCain was admitted to Covenant Hospital Friday afternoon with heart issues. Madlyn Rees had surgery last Wednesday. The doctor believes they were able to get all the cancer. Bonnie Stephens is scheduled for bladder surgery Friday, May 17. ********************************************************************* Our love and sympathy is extended to Barton Spencer and his family. His sister, Avilene Kirk, passed away May 2 in Lubbock. Her service was last Monday. Ladies Bible Class will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Dennis Wing. The study is on lesson 7. We need help baking potatoes for our Senior Luncheon Wednesday the 15th. The potatoes will be in the Dennis Wing Sunday. Please pick some up and bake them and bring them back by 11:00 Wednesday. This is a wonderful time to honor and serve all the Littlefield seniors. Also we need one more pan of brownies. The Senior Breakfast for our three seniors will be next Sunday. Breakfast will begin at 8:00 a.m. for the seniors and their families, the Elders and families, and the Deacons and their families. We need breakfast items so please sign up in the foyer. Jean Count: We have collected 65 pairs of jeans. We only need 10 more pairs of new or gently used girls’ jeans (size 4-10) to meet our goal of 75 pairs. Prayer request: Gideon Hawley is scheduled to have back surgery today in California. Gregory McNabb had problems with his insulin pump and he is not feeling well. Sheila Oliver’s cousin, Clay Rogers, is awaiting test results after surgery to remove a brain tumor. His wife, Kimberly, is battling breast cancer. This family needs continual prayers. Larry Stanley’s niece, Vickie Graves is awaiting test results. Bonnie Stephens is scheduled for bladder surgery on May 17. Bonnie and Miles have asked for our continued prayers. ********************************************************************* Our love and sympathy is extended to Fay Dennis’ family. She passed away last Sunday at the age of 101. She was a “good and faithful servant” to our Lord and this Church family. Her service was held here Wednesday. The Building Fund will be collected Sunday. Jean Count: We have collected 48 pairs of our goal of 75 pairs of jeans. We need new or gently used girls’ jeans (size 4-10). The deadline is 5/26. Prayer request: Gideon Hawley will have back surgery May 3rd. Sheila Oliver’s cousin, Clay Rogers, is doing well after surgery to remove a brain tumor. Floyce Pierce received a good report from the stress test. No stints are needed. Lil Pollard continues to be in Muleshoe. Jeremy Sides was in UMC with double pneumonia and exposure to mold. He is now recovering at Denise and Ray’s house. Larry Stanley’s niece, Vickie Graves from Lubbock, has been diagnosed with hematoma migraines. She will have additional tests. Bonnie Stephens had bladder surgery last Monday. She is feeling good and is home. Update: Teresa McNabb’s aunt, Leona Payne, got a good report. She has a significant reduction of cancer. She will have a cycle of a little less chemo so hopefully she can tolerate it better. ************************************************************************* Our love and sympathy is extended to Danny Davis. His uncle, Jerry Davis, passed away Wednesday morning in Childress. Danny is requesting continued prayers for the family. Our love and sympathy is also extended to Earl Love. Jane passed away Wednesday afternoon. Her graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 in Littlefield. Please pray for Earl during this most difficult time. The VBS Meeting is Sunday at 5 in the Dennis Wing. Those interested in helping with VBS are encouraged to attend. The Elders will meet Wednesday night after our singing service. Those needing prayers: Danny Davis’ uncle, Jerry Davis, had surgery Wednesday at BSA Hospital in Amarillo. He is expected to have a slow recovery. Sheila Oliver asked for prayers for her cousin, Clay Rogers. He was scheduled to have a second surgery last Monday to remove a large brain tumor. We do not have an update at this time. ********************************************************************** Our Easter Egg Hunt will be Sunday after the morning service. This is always a fun time for hunters and watchers! We invite all children to stay and hunt eggs! On Senior Day (May 19th) we will honor our Seniors: Bryson Flores, Daisy Garcia and Jayci Weldon. Make plans to be here and celebrate them! Jean Count: We have collected 38 pairs of our goal of 75 pairs of jeans. We need new or gently used girls’ jeans (size 4-10). The deadline is May 26th. Prayer request: Dan Foley is having difficulties with the chemo treatments. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Jane Love was moved to the Autumn House room 107 last Thursday. Randy and Dinah McCoy is requesting prayers for their daughter, Madlyn Rees. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer and will go to MD Anderson in Houston. Ronnie Pace’s hand surgery went well. Floyce Pierce had a stress test last Wednesday. He will get results Monday. George Tooley had an angiogram last Tuesday and he did not have to have stints. But one of the heart valves will need to be replaced in the near future. ************************************************************************ Our Easter Egg Hunt is Sunday, April 21st and we still need plastic eggs filled with goodies. A Special Thank You goes to Floyce Pierce. For as long as we can remember he has been in charge of counting the contribution. He is retiring from this job and we want him to know how much we appreciate him doing this thankless job! Our 100th Anniversary Celebration will be November 17th. We are compiling a list of former members and their addresses so we can invite them to the celebration. We need your help by making a list of members and addresses that you have kept up with. There are forms in the foyer and in the handouts for your convenience. You may call, email, or give your list to Debbie, Janice McElroy, or Lanell Rodgers. Prayer request: Jane Love hopes to go to rehab soon. Ronnie Pace had hand surgery last Thursday. He is home doing well. Floyce Pierce came home Tuesday but in the near future he will have stints. Randy and Dinah McCoy is requesting prayers for their daughter, Madlyn Rees. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer and will go to MD Anderson in Houston. ************************************************************************ The Building Fund will be collected Sunday. Ladies Bible Class will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Dennis Wing. Our love and sympathy is extended to Irene Martinez. Her cousin, Nancy Sosa DeLeon of Lubbock, passed away April 1st. Her service was Thursday in Muleshoe. Our Easter Egg Hunt will be April 21st. Please bring plastic eggs filled with goodies. The Children’s Home of Lubbock is asking us to collect new or gently used girls’ jeans (size 4-10). The deadline is May 26th and our goal is 75 pairs of jeans. Ronnie Pace was scheduled to have hand surgery last Friday. Floyce Pierce is in BSA Hospital in Amarillo with pneumonia and sepsis. He continues to improve. Lil Pollard continues to be in Muleshoe for therapy. ****************************************************************** Our love and sympathy is extended to Gregory McNabb and his family. Greg’s mother, Elwanda McNabb, passed away and her graveside service will be Saturday at the Sudan Cemetery. There will be a noon meal provided for the family at the Methodist Church. The plan is to have a Potluck Luncheon and we have been told to bring whatever we want to help with the luncheon. Congratulations to the McNabbs as Teresa and Gregory’s granddaughter, Allie Grace, was baptized March 23rd. Our First Quarter Luncheon will be today. We want to encourage everyone to come join us for lunch and fellowship. The evening service will be held immediately after lunch so there will be no service at 6:00. Prayer request: Patsy McCain will have a third back surgery Monday, March 25th. Lil Pollard continues to be in Muleshoe for therapy. Lorretta Ray had gallbladder surgery last Tuesday. She is home and doing well. **************************************************************** Our love and sympathy is extended to Gregory McNabb and his family. Greg’s mother, Elwanda McNabb, passed away Friday morning. She had been a resident of the Harmony House in Amherst since December. Her services are pending. The Crescent Park Church of Christ 100th Anniversary Celebration is coming soon! There will be a planning meeting Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the Dennis Wing. First Quarter Luncheon will be Sunday, March 31st. We would like to encourage everyone to come join us for lunch and fellowship. The evening service will be held immediately after lunch. There will be no service at 6:00. The Children’s Home of Lubbock is now having their Big Heart Campaign. They are once again asking us to collect girls’ jeans. The jeans size 4-10 and new or gently used. The deadline is May 26th and our goal is 75 pairs of jeans. Prayer request: Dan Foley started a round of chemo last Tuesday. Larry McCain had back surgery last Wednesday. He is doing well and is at home. Drusilla Moss continues to be in the Library of Legacies. Doc Pharris is back in Covenant Hospital. Lil Pollard was scheduled to go home last Friday. Joyce Rowe continues to improve. ***************************************************************** Ladies Bible Class will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Dennis Wing. The study will be lesson 5 in the series on spiritual strength. Our love and sympathy is extended to Ronnie Vaughn and his family. His sister, Linda Barnett, passed away last week. Her graveside service will be Friday at 2:00. First Quarter Luncheon will be March 31st. We would like to encourage everyone to come join us for lunch and fellowship. The evening service will be held immediately after lunch. There will be no service at 6:00. Thank you note: We gratefully acknowledge your recent contribution to the Ukraine Mission Work. We cherish your support in spreading the gospel in the Ukraine. Thank you, Directors of the Mission Fund ***YOUTH NEWS*** Sunday we leave for Cadillac Ranch at 12:30. You will need money for Braums. Our goal is to be back by 6 for night service, not 100% sure. Monday we leave at 5:00 for Main Event. You will have 2 hours to bowl, laser tag and mini golf. Plus $20 for arcade. Pizza and drinks will be provided. This is just for youth group. We should be back by 8:30 Thursday we will be making casseroles at 9:30 a.m. at the High School. Lunch will be provided!
